Embedding innovation into business culture

Sngular inaugurates its new Pittsburgh office with a keynote speech and roundtable discussion about innovation
We’ve seen it before – a company is dead set on innovating, it’s splurged on the best technology, sharp talent and has even devised a clever strategy to become cutting-edge. But still, the company remains uninventive and lacks creativity. Innovation is relegated to the domain of being a superficial buzzword. That’s because there is one key ingredient lacking, and that is incorporating a culture of innovation throughout the company.
To spread the word about how to embed innovation into businesses in a deeply transformative way, Sngular will host a keynote speech and roundtable discussion on January 22 in Pittsburgh. On one hand, it’s a symbolic way to inaugurate the new Pittsburgh office, which will become something of the global company’s headquarters in the United States. On the other hand, it’s a way for the company to greet fellow members of the business community in the region and forge new connections.
Renowned international speaker, former banking executive and fintech expert Scarlett Sieber will deliver the keynote address. In the talk, she will address the foundational role that culture plays when it comes to implementing innovation in any institution. She will focus on the human side of innovation because, at the end of the day, it is people who hold the fate of innovation in their hands. That’s why getting people on board with new ways of working across the organization is crucial, as is allowing ideas to flow throughout the company, not just from the top down. Using real-world examples, Scarlett will cover what true innovation means in concept and practice and how organizations can bring it about.
The roundtable discussion will follow along the same lines. It’s all about what innovation means across different industries. As technology evolves at a dizzying pace, no matter what sector a company works in, those that lack clearly defined innovation strategies are disappearing. In 1935, the life expectancy of an S&P 500 company was 90 years. By 2010, it had shrunk to around 20 years, and studies suggest it will shrink to just 12 years by 2027.
The panelists on the roundtable are executives and experts from the Pittsburgh innovation community. Fernando Alfaro, SVP Head of Retail Channel Delivery and Open Banking at PNC; Ganesh Krishnan, EVP/CIO - Corporate and Institutional Banking at PNC Bank; Santiago Garces, CIO City of Pittsburgh, and Jonathan Kersting, Vice President of Communications & Media at the Pittsburgh Technology Council, will give a masterclass of innovation. Touching on regulation, customer experience, community engagement and more, they will discuss the various principles and methodologies that are being used across industries to drive innovation success.
The speeches will be followed by a cocktail reception, where all those in attendance can discuss what they’ve learned, make new connections and bring new ideas to the community. We hope to see you there!
